The 2005 Model Type 1A Little Giant Ladders are identical to the ladders currently being marketed on the television infomercial, but without the wheels and tri-lock hinge. Also referred to as the "Basic" Little Giant Ladder, this is the same basic design that was the flagship the Little Giant line for almost 30 years. If you don't need the Tip and Glide Wheels or Triple-Lock Hinge, the "Basic" is a great way to save $60 off the price. Many people have asked if the hinge on this ladder is weaker than the Triple-Lock Hinge. The simple answer is, no. The hinge on the Basic is already the strongest part of the ladder, so there's no 'weak link' at all with this hinge. The Triple-Lock Hinge has an added measure of security with the orange locking plates when the ladder is in the full extension position, but it isn't any "stronger" than the hinge on the Basic. Unlike most competitor ladders, the patented hinge on either 1A Little Giant Ladder is by far the strongest part of the ladder. Interested in saving even more? Check out our
